Angela and Mark’s Engagement Session

Is there such a thing as being in too much love? We don’t think so – Angela and Mark make being in love easy and comfortable. Clearly each other’s best friend, they know how to ‘be’ with one another. Often Angela and Mark were kissing with no prompts – and laughing. We had no idea what was so funny – but it caused us to join regardless! Unveiled is very much looking forward to celebrating this couple’s wedding day with them May 19th.

GTA Engagement Session – Julie and Garrett

Julie and Garrett hired Unveiled over the phone last summer, and we only met up with them three weeks ago in Oshawa.  It is always fun to meet up in public with people you have never met before!  Sunday, March 11th was our first perfect day for shooting in early spring. We started at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery. The security guards, though both kind and accommodating, were cautious, and seemed to sweat a little bit when we were out of sight. (Taking pictures of art in any gallery is forbidden, even by accident. We reassured them it wasn’t our intention, that our focus was our on clients.)  From the gallery we walked  a loop around the downtown core.  Who knew photographing in Oshawa could be so inspiring?!  Thanks Julie and Garrett for being so much fun!  See you in Kingston July 21st!

Your Bridal Party – Part 3 – Unique Photo Ideas

Happy Monday!

The last of our bridal party posts is dedicated to how Unveiled has refined photographing some of the most important people in your life.

First, we ask our clients what their location preferences are. Sometimes the answers are very general, such as preferring a natural setting or downtown Kingston. Other preferences narrow location proximity; for instance, being close to the reception venue is important to the couple.

Second, we help guide our clients’ location choices by asking how many are in the bridal party as some locations in Kingston are more conducive to arranging  a larger party.  Or we might ask the couple if they are interested in shooting at a location we have never been to before, thus offering to them a unique wedding portfolio.

Third, we offer guidance by occasionally scoping out an area before the wedding day. Perhaps a location is not as pretty as we had hoped, with flowers and trees being late to bloom.  Or maybe the time of day will be too bright and sunny to shoot, making for washed out photos and squinting eyes.

Lastly, each weekend we do our absolute best, to look at a popular location differently, finding corners and angles we hadn’t thought of before, alleyways we have not had time to walk through in the past, or arranging the bride and groom and attendants differently on a set of stairs. Each weekend we try to use lighting in a dramatic way, height more effectively, and architecture more fashionably. Cues from the environment are taken including tree lines, rock formations, or natural colours.

Know that we are very willing to act upon ideas and requests because ultimately, we want our clients to be fully satisfied with their experience with Unveiled and pleased when viewing the the end product.

We hope you enjoy this next set of fun and unique bridal party pictures.
